Jubilee, Vikramaditya Motwane's exhilarating take on 1950s Bombay, is a fresh perspective. The 10-part series revolves around the birth of Hindi cinema against the background of division. It goes further into the manner in which the two are inextricably linked.
The tremendously entertaining series enthralls viewers with its fictitious people inspired by actual stars from the past. Aditi Rao Hydari, Ram Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurana, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Wamiqa Gabba, and Sidhant Gupta round up the dream cast for Jubliee.
Jubilee, Amazon Prime's latest web series, transports viewers to the 1940s, amid the heated buildup to Indian independence. Binod (Aparshakti Khurana), a film studio fixer, is dispatched by his boss (Prosenjit Chatterjee) to accompany his wife (Aditi Rao Hydari) and her boyfriend, Jamshed Khan (Nandish Singh Sandhu), back to Bombay. The romance threatens to derail his boss's attempts to establish the lover, who is also a brilliant theatrical actress, as a movie star.
Following a gruesome accident and a riot in Lucknow, the story takes a dismal turn. As Jamshed inexplicably vanishes, Binod takes charge as the leading guy. The plot is suggestive of a 1930s scandal involving Himanshu Rai, Devika Rani, and Ashok Kumar.
