Dancer and singer JoJo Siwa took to TikTok to reveal why she has a bald spot on the side of her head. Siwa appeared on Dance Moms and wrote that she had a stress rash on her head during the time she was on the show and it lead to no more hair in that spot.
JoJo Siwa, the 19-year-old So You Think You Can Dance judge spoke about how she got her bald spot. Siwa responded to a fan who assumed the bald spot was due to Siwa’s iconic tight ponytails. She clarified that her bald spot was not from her ponytails and was the result of a stress rash.
In the video that received more than 23 million views, Siwa showed where she typically wore her ponytail and noted that the area of the bald spot did not get pulled.

Siwa said, “When I was little, I had a really bad stress rash right here on Dance Moms. I would pick at it all day long, and I damaged every single hair follicle that has ever been right there”.
Before JoJo Siwa got a pixie cut, she often wore her hair in her signature tight ponytail along with her trademark bow. Fans often expressed concern for her hairline and quipped that her ponytail would eventually lead to hair loss. However, Siwa clarified that her bald spot was not caused by the signature ponytail she sported for years.

JoJo Siwa has won four Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. In 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 she won the award for Favourite Viral Music Artist, the award for Favourite Musical YouTube Creator, and she won the award for Favourite Social Music Star for two years.
