Kasia Lenhardt: Ex-girlfriend of soccer star Jerome Boateng, Kasia Lenhardt has been found dead. The unfortunate incident occurs only one week after Boateng announced their split up.
Berlin Police found her dead in a home on Tuesday. Police informed that a "lifeless person" was found in the city's upscale Charlottenburg section
Since the investigators believe Lenhardt took her own life after primary investigation, her death is not being treated as suspicious so far.
Kasia Lenhardt became popular after appearing on Germany's 'Next Top Model' in 2012. She has a son, Noah from a previous relationship that ended three years ago.
"Yesterday at around 8:30 p.m. there was a police operation in Charlottenburg on suspicion of suicide. There are no indications of third-party negligence," Berlin police said.
The split
32-year-old Jerome Boateng is a Bayern Munich defender. The couple who had started dating almost a year ago broke up on February 2. The soccer player took to Instagram to announce his split with the 25-year-old model. But this post has been deleted.
The post by Boateng read, "We will go our separate ways from now on. That is regrettable, but for my family and for me it is the only right one." He further apologised to the mother of his children, Rebecca, saying he was "disappointed" in himself.
He went on to wish Kasia 'all the best' and also stated, "A man has to take responsibility and act in the interests of his family and I'm doing it now."
Meanwhile, Lenhardt reportedly crashed Boateng's Mini Cooper last month that led to a public spat. The Polish model had previously said she ended their relationship due to the World Cup winner's "lies and constant infidelity."
She later had posted a photo of them on Instagram with a caption, "The devil does his best.". This post was deleted afterwards.
Her friend and fellow model, Sara Kulka, confirmed Lenhardt's death through Instagram on Wednesday.
Kulka wrote in an emotional post, "Rest in peace. You wonderful person, I miss you and would have liked to say goodbye. I hope you find your peace now and I hope the truth comes out now, I know how much you wanted it to be."
Kasia Lenhardt had made her last Instagram post on February 3. She captioned her black and white picture, "Now is where you draw the line. Enough."
