When Is Jana Gana Mana Release Date For OTT ?

Malayalam film director Dijo Jose Antony’s Jana Gana Mana is one of the surprise hits of this year with the film on the last day making its entry into the Rs. 50 crore club. Fans are excited to learn that the makers also announced that the film starring Prithviraj Sukumaran is ready to release itself on a popular OTT platform.

Released on 28 April 2022 in movie theatres, the film not only received critical acclaim but also became a commercial success at the box office.

The plot of the film revolves around the possible murder of Professor Saba Mariyam, a persistent and socially conscious college professor, from the Central University in Ramanagara. It causes protests organised by the college students, wanting justice for Saba which gets suppressed by police forces. This incident evokes more protests and demonstrations against police brutality across the country. The Karnataka government under pressure, then, appoints an ACP to solve Saba Mariyam's murder case.

The film used a reverse treatment in storytelling in its second half that caught the viewers in awe. A Supriya Menon and Listin Stephen production, the film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Mamta Mohandas. Jakes Bejoy composed the music for the film while cinematography and editing are handled by Sudeep Elamon and Sreejith Sarang respectively.

The Indian Express wrote, "Prithviraj steals the show in this preachy and patronising political thriller" and The New Indian Express wrote that the movie was "an epic, high-impact political thriller"

Jana Gana Mana Release Date And Time

Suraj Venjaramoodu, who plays a fierce cop character in ‘Jana Gana Mana’ announced on his official Instagram handle that the film will be available on a popular OTT platform from June 2nd onwards.

Suraj Venjaramoodu’s Instagram note read, “From June 2nd in all languages (Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada & Hindi). Movie buffs were all excited to watch the movie on their home screens.

The makers also announced that the film is all set to release on Netflix from June 2, Thursday onwards and is expected to have its OTT premiere at 12 AM on that day.
