Last year in February 2020, just days before her birthday, a troll accused Jameela Jamil of having Munchausen's syndrome, a condition that makes people pretend of being ill when they are perfectly fine. This forced her to defend her health conditions. Jamil has talked about being diagnosed with cancer twice and being partially deaf as a child. She had also met with two horrible accidents which left her wheelchair ridden and has been diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. It is a condition that makes people doubt your illness because you look okay.

She had said," I'm tired of the bullying, the taunting over my mental and physical health." At the conference, Jamil said that after a year later, " I'm like the strongest and the happiest and the freest I've ever been."She added that she doesn't want to "impress a bunch of strangers" on the internet and that women are "scrutinised obsessively" compares to men on social media.

In November last year, Jameela had talked about attempted to take her own life eight years ago because of a nervous breakdown.

"It was the second time I tried and I thought, "Well, I'm just gonna do it again if something huge doesn't change– if everything doesn't change." And so I decided to try and figure out my trauma, what had taken me to this low point," she said.
