Jailer, starring Rajinikanth and Tamannaah Bhatia, has been allotted a release date. The movie also features actors like Jackie Shroff and Mohanlal.

The release date and a brief synopsis of the Jailer cast were revealed on Sun Pictures' official Twitter account.

Film Jailer Will Stream ON 18th August

The tweet states that the movie will be released on August 10.

The film's creators already released an announcement for the release date reveal. The penitentiary will serve as the setting for the Sun Pictures film. Although the teasers provide a glimpse into the intensity of the upcoming movie, other more substantial details about the Rajinikanth movie are unknown.

The movie Jailer is expected to be an action comedy. It comes from the film's writer and director, Nelson Dilipkumar. The project has been produced by Sun Pictures' Kalanithi Maran. Rajinikanth, a superstar in Tamil cinema, plays Muthuvel Pandian in the movie. Other actors who appear in the movie include Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Jackie Shroff from Bollywood, Mohanlal from Malayalam, Sunil, Vasanth Ravi, and Yogi Babu.

Prior to its official announcement in February 2022, Jailer went by the working title Thalaivar 169. August 2022 marked the beginning of the film's principal photography. Anirudh Ravichander, who has previously collaborated with Nelson on films like Kolamaavu Kokila, Doctor, and Beast, wrote the score for Jailer.

Prior to this, Ravichander contributed to two Rajinikanth films. Darbar and Petta are their names. The majority of the movie was filmed in Chennai and Hyderabad. But some of the movie's scenes were shot in Cuddalore, Jaisalmer, and Mangalore. Athirappilly Falls in Kerala served as the location for the film's conclusion.
