FIR Against Jackky Bhagnani And Eight Others On Rape, Molestation Charges

Jackky Bhagnani booked in rape and molestation case: Nine high-profile members of the Hindi film industry, including actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani, have been booked for rape and molestation. A songwriter and former model based in Mumbai has lodged a complaint against the nine, including a well-known photographer Colston Julian, Krishan Kumar of T-Series and Anirban Das Blah who is the co-founder of talent management company Kwan.

According to a report by News18, in her complaint, the 28-year-old model accused them of allegedly sexually assaulting her on various occasions since 2012, an official said on Monday. The other names mentioned in the FIR are Nikhil Kamat, Sheel Gupta, Ajit Thakur, Gurujyot Singh and Vishnu Wardhan Induri.

As per reports, the FIR was filed by the Bandra Police earlier this month. The FIR copy also states that photographer Colston Julian had allegedly raped the complainant multiple times between 2014 and 2018.

On April 12, the model had written a post on social media claiming she was physically and emotionally abused during a work assignment. She said that while Bhagnani had allegedly molested her in Bandra, Nikhil Kamat had allegedly harassed the complainant at a plush hotel in Santacruz. The survivor's complaint also claims that Sheel Gupta allegedly sexually harassed the model in a building in Andheri in 2015. Speaking to Mid-day, the complainant said that she gave her statement on May 18 and based on that the FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on May 26.

The survivor further said that she has submitted all pieces of evidence against her alleged abusers, still "Why are the police further delaying the arrest of the accused?" When asked about the reason behind this, a senior IPS office from the Mumbai Police told the portal that they were currently "collecting the pieces of evidence that the survivor claims to possess against " and that their "investigations are underway."

No arrests have been made in the case as of yet.
