Instagram deletes Kangana Ranaut post on COVID-19: Social networking platform Instagram removed a post by actor Kangana Ranaut in which she referred to the coronavirus as a "small time flu" that has received too much attention from the media. On Saturday, the Manikarnika actor had taken to Instagram to announce that she has been tested positive for COVID-19. She had made the controversial remark about COVID-19 in the same post.
Taking to Instagram stories on Sunday, Ranaut alleged that Instagram had deleted her post in which she "threatened to demolish Covid" as it hurt some people. "It's been two days here on insta but don't think will last here more than a week," the actor further wrote.
Ranaut continued to target the social networking platform for its action against her misleading post on May 1o. In a separate story, the actor wrote that on Instagram everybody is a victim of capitalism "... an entire generation of youth eaten up by the termite of capitalism and consumerism their indifference and disdain for the nation and its crisis is appalling..." Ranaut also said that she is already waiting to be banned from the platform calling it a "badge of honour."
The post in question was made by Kangana Ranaut from here official handle on May 8. "I was feeling tired and weak with slight burning sensation in my eyes for past few days, was hoping to go to Himachal so got my test done yesterday and today the result came I am covid positive (sic)," she wrote. The actor also revealed that she was now self quarantining at her home in Mumbai and promised her fans that she would "demolish" the virus.
Calling COVID-19 nothing but a "small time flu" Ranaut said that people shouldn't give the disease any power over them. "If you are scared it will scare you more," she claimed.
This isn't the first time Ranaut is facing action from a social media platform for her controversial posts. Earlier this month the actor's Twitter account was permanently suspended for a tweet related to violence in West Bengal following state assembly elections.
"We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behaviour that has the potential to lead to offline harm. The referenced account has been permanently suspended for repeated violations of Twitter Rules specifically our Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy," an official statement from the microblogging platform said.
