"Not A Good Match": Matchmaker Sima Taparia On Nick Jonas And Priyanka Chopra

Indian Matchmaking’s Sima Taparia commented on actors Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s marriage and claimed they are not a good match. Taparia was speaking about the ideal age of a partner and commented on the celebrity couple.

The reality television series Indian Matchmaking returned for season 2 on August 10 and on the second episode, matchmaker Sima Taparia made her thoughts about Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s relationship clear.

Taparia was speaking with her client Nadia about Vishal, a bachelor who was seven years younger than her. Nadia cited the example of the celebrity couple, Chopra and Jonas, with an age gap of 11 years.

Taparia responded to the comment about Chopra and Jonas, “I don’t feel it’s a good match sorry to tell them.” She added, “It’s not a good match. He looks so small and petite in front of her and she looks elder.”

The matchmaker described herself as old-fashioned and said, “I think when a guy is seven years old, it’s okay. But for the girl to be seven years older, I don’t know. Maybe I am old-fashioned.”

Sima Taparia’s comment about Chopra and Jonas drew flak and netizens slammed her on social media. One user said, “Someone tell this Sima Taparia that Priyanka and Nick don’t even know of her existence and certainly don’t care what she thinks of them.”

Another referred to the criticism the reality television series and wrote, “I don’t know how South Asians are flocking to watch Indian Matchmaking when Sima says the most misogynistic and archaic commentary. She has a platform and opportunity to change the mindset but she digs in. I’m out here defending Priyanka again!”

The celebrity couple Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra got married in December 2018. Earlier this year, the couple recently had a baby girl named Malti Maria Jonas via surrogacy.

Chopra has been repeatedly shamed for the age gap between the married couple. During the Jonas Brothers Family Roast, she quipped about their age gap. She said that due to the age gap, the couple often teaches each other, “He showed me how to use TikTok for example. And I showed him what a successful acting career looks like.”
