Actor Ramya Krishnan has been roped in by the showrunners of Bigg Boss Tamil season 5 to host the upcoming episodes of the show. The original host Kamal Haasan has been infected by the COVID-19 and is currently recovering.
As per reports, Krishnan has been confirmed to host the show but the official word from the showrunners is awaited. Haasan has been hosting the reality show since 2017. He recently tested positive for the coronavirus has been admitted in a private hospital in Chennai. This made the reality show runners to looks for a temporary replacement for him.
Ramya Krishnan has been associated with Bigg Boss in the past. In season 3 of the show, she had hosted the weekend episodes when the then host Nagarjuna had gone travelling abroad. In the last episode hosted by Kamal Haasan, Isaivani was evicted from the house.
As per reports, Haasan contracted the virus when he when to United States of America to launch his apparel brand, House of Khaddar. The launch took place in Chicago in the presence of many notable guests. When he came back to India, he developed symptoms and then tested positive. He took to Twitter on Monday to share the news with his fans and followers and urged everyone to stay safe noting that the "pandemic is not over yet".
His daughter, Shruti Haasan took to her social media account and informed the actor's fans that he is recovering well. He has been vaccinated against the virus. On the other work front, Kamal Haasan is going to be seen in a upcoming film titled Vikram which is currently under production. He is playing the lead role in the film and also producing it. The screenplay of the film has been written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film also has Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil as part of the cast.
