The first teaser for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, the prequel film is to plug the young adult franchise. Released in 2020, ten years after the publication of Mockingjay, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was the highly anticipated prequel to Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games book series.
The story, set years before the original series, concentrates on a young Coriolanus Snow, who grows up to be the criminal President Snow. Donald Sutherland plays him in the Hunger Games films. Earlier in 2020, just a month before The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' release, Lionsgate was announced to be in expansion on an adaptation of the film with Francis Lawrence, the director of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and both Mockingjay adaptations.
The lead role in the Epix original series Billy the Kid played by Tom Blythe has signed on as the young Snow. According to Screen Rant, West Side Story celebrity Rachel Zegler was cast in the pivotal role of Lucy Gray Baird, a young girl from District 12 who forms a connection with the future ruler of Panem.

Lionsgate has released an official teaser ">trailer for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes without showing live-action footage. The film has yet to begin main photography. The announcement trailer highlights a snowy forest with the arrival of a golden songbird and a snake.
Hunger Games Prequel Release
It is undefined if Lionsgate intends to have it recreated in theatres. As Jurassic World Dominion is releasing in theatres this week, it has set its brief teaser in front of the highly anticipated blockbuster.
It is over a year away from its release but the imagery in the teaser certainly produces many conspiracies by establishing a tense dynamic between Snow and Lucy. As hinted by the trailer, one is a songbird, and the other is a snake that oversees a conflict.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes has been prepared for a November 2023 release date, the pre-Thanksgiving Friday that paddled the latter three Hunger Games films from Lawrence to box office exhilaration.
