Huma Qureshi Warns Anurag Kashyap For ‘Stealing’ Her Song; Here’s His Response

Anurag Kashyap, a filmmaker, and actor Huma Qureshi are close friends. In fact, Anurag Kashyap gave Huma Qureshi her big break in movies back in 2012. The actor recently posted a video to her Instagram stories explaining why she is suing Anurag and music producer Amit Trivedi for "stealing" her song. Here's how the filmmaker responded.

Anurag Kashyap and Huma Qureshi were having a social media interaction. She posted a video clip to Instagram Stories in which she claimed to be "suing" Amit Trivedi and Anurag for copying her song. In response to her assertion, the filmmaker added that although the song may have been taken, it was never made public.

Huma Qureshi Warns Anurag Kashyap:

"I am suing Amit Trivedi and Anurag Kashyap for allegedly stealing my song", Huma wrote alongside a clip from Kashyap's upcoming movie Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat. "Hahaha and never releasing it", Anurag reposted her re-share on Instagram Stories. He decked out his post with a few heart emojis as well.

Kashyap's well-known crime drama, Gangs of Wasseypur, which was released in 2012 in two parts, featured Huma Qureshi. In an interview with Mashable India, Qureshi recalled her first encounter with Kashyap, when he promised her a film and directed a Samsung commercial featuring her and Aamir Khan. She was foolish enough, according to Huma, to tell him that she had only recently arrived in Bombay and that one must work very hard before landing a film. She added that she didn't go through the audition process for her Gangs of Wasseypur role.

Alaya F and Karan Mehta co-star in the movie Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat. Kashyap had previously stated to the media at the teaser launch that the movie was a special one to him because it developed "over the years from my conversations with my daughter." He added, "With the help of some amazing collaborators, including my DP Sylvester and my PD Shazia, as well as everyone else, it's a true labour of love with some amazing young actors, great energy, and great music by Amit Trivedi. It deals with love and the various prejudices that afflict it. With this movie, I feel wonderful about entering the next stage of my life."
