Hotstar Announces New Shows Including Kajol's The Good Wife, Bhuvan Bam's Taaza Khabar

On Thursday, the streaming service Disney Plus Hotstar announced the debut of a number of new shows. As part of its Disney Plus Day celebrations, the streamer debuted teasers for four new shows: Kajol's The Good Wife, Lootere, YouTuber Bhuvan Bam's Taaza Khabar, and Aar Ya Paar. The streaming platform is yet to reveal the release date for the shows.

Lootere:

Lootere, the directorial debut of Jay Mehta, the son of Hansal Mehta, stars a cast that includes Rajat Kapoor, Vivek Gomber, Amruta Khanvilkar, Gaurav Sharma, Chandan Roy Sanyal, and Preetika Chawla. It centres on the lives of the Jadhavs, who moved from Bihar to Molo in Kenya but became involved in the country's violent ethnic disputes.

The filmmaker shared, "Lootere examines a story of survival and struggle of a crew of a commercial ship at a moment when hope is blurring. We can't wait to share this gripping tale with the audience shortly. "

The Good Wife:

The principal character in the new show, The Good Wife will be played by Kajol. The show is a remake of an American television drama with Julianna Margulies as the title character. On Thursday, a 30-second teaser for the show was released in which Kajol bravely enters a courtroom and asks, "Shuru karein?" The tagline for the show is "Pyaar. Kanoon. Dhokha."

This is Kajol's first OTT show. She previously stated, "Being a big fan of digital series, the concept has always been fascinating. I also felt that Disney Plus Hotstar was the only platform I should choose to launch my series debut after watching fantastic shows like Rudra and Aarya."

Taaza Khabar:

With his OTT debut show Taaza Khabar, actor and YouTuber Bhuvan Bam tells the tale of a sanitation worker from Mumbai. It shows poverty that is based on class and the human longing for a better life. The show, which is directed by Himank Gaur, also features Shriya Pilgaonkar, JD Chakravarthy, Deven Bhojani, and Prathamesh Parab.

Bam expressed his excitement for Taaza Khabar, his debut online series. He said, "With a tale that is filled with action, emotion, and life's comedy, I reach a new professional milestone with Disney Plus Hotstar. The narrative of my character Vasya exposes the paradoxes of society in a way that makes you ponder how magic and miracles take place." Furthermore, Bam stated, "this new persona is very different from all of the roles I've played."

Aar Ya Paar:

Aar Ya Paar, starring Aditya Rawal, Sumeet Vyas, Patralekhaa, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Shilpa Shukla, depicts a tribal man's battle with the modern world and its dishonest financial and political structures.

Aar Ya Paar's creator and showrunner, Siddharth Sengupta, expressed his excitement about sharing this special tale with viewers of his new show. He said, "Unique stories are finding their way to viewers, and I am pleased about my first engagement with Disney Plus Hotstar to bring to the forefront a distinct tale of Aar Ya Paar."
