Hindi Films October Releases : While the OTT trend is raging as ever, movie theatres are slowly opening up in many cities across the country, and movie buffs are surely in for brighter times. They will be able to enjoy the complete movie experience after well over an year !
Whether you curl up on the couch with your favorite snacks, or settle in with your popcorn at the movie theatre, the October releases are sure to keep you occupied and entertained.
Here are some Hindi films slated to release in October this year :
Shiddat
Release Date: October 1
Shiddat, stars Radhika Madan, Sunny Kaushal, Mohit Raina, and Diana Penty in lead roles. The film will showcase two parallel love stories, and centers around the theme of how believing with all your heart achieves love. The trailer shows the characters of Radhika and Sunny as two star crossed lovers, but problems arise when the girl is set to marry to someone else.
The film is set to be released on Disney+ Hotstar. It is directed by Kunal Deshmukh, and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Bhushan Kumar. Vijan said that the the agony, ecstasy and the grandeur of romance is what they have tried to capture in Shiddat.
Bhavai
Release Date: October 1
Bhavai stars Pratik Gandhi of Scam 1992 fame, Aindrita Roy, Rajendra Gupta, Rajesh Sharma, and Abhimanyu Singh in pivotal roles. Directed by Hardik Gajjar, is reportedly a fictional love story of two individuals, Raja Ram Joshi and Rani, who work at a drama company and how their life changes off stage.
It is set to be released in cinemas. 'Bhavai' is essentially a popular form of folk theatre from Gujarat. Pratik Gandhi plays Rajaram Joshi, a theatre artist who plays Raavan in Ram Leela, a representation of the Ramayana.
Rashmi Rocket
Release Date: October 15
The upcoming film stars Taapsee Pannu as Rashmi, a young village girl who works hard to become a renowned professional athlete. Her career is then faced with many hurdles after a medical examination, which deems her “masculine” and thus unfit to compete in women’s sport due to her hyperandrogenism. She fights a battle for justice. The film aims to highlight the struggles of female athletes, many of which are barred from sports due to these gender tests. The film will be releasing on Zee5.
Maidaan
Release Date: October 15
The film is based on the golden era of Indian Football, described between 1952-1962. Ajay Devgn stars as coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who is regarded as the architect of Indian Football, and aims to honour his contributions. The film also stars Priyamani and National award-winning actor Keerthy Suresh, who will be making her Hindi film debut with Maidaan. The film is directed by Rohit Bhujbal and Amit Ravindernath Sharma, and produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta
Sardar Udham Singh
Release Date: October 16
The much anticipated, Vicky Kaushal starrer is aiming for a release on Amazon Prime Video on 16 October. It is based on the life of Sardar Udham Singh. The revolutionary who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India in 1940, to avenge the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. It is directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar.
