Hina Khan has revealed that she is dealing with mucositis, a painful side effect of chemotherapy, as she continues her fight against stage 3 breast cancer. In a heartfelt Instagram post on Thursday evening (September 5), Hina shared her experience with the condition and asked her followers for any helpful remedies.

In her post, Hina wrote, "Another side effect of chemotherapy is mucositis. Although I am following the doctor's advice to treat it, if any of you have been through it or know useful remedies, please suggest. It's really hard when you can't eat." She ended her message with folded hands and see-no-evil monkey emojis, expressing how tough it has been.

Many of her fans and followers responded with words of encouragement and tips. One fan commented, "Heal soon. Prayers for your speedy recovery," while others advised caution, with one stating, "Get the treatment done; one bad piece of advice can worsen things."

What is Mucositis?

Mucositis is a condition marked by inflammation and ulceration of the lining of the digestive tract, often leading to painful mouth sores or gastrointestinal issues. It is a common side effect of cancer treatments like chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

These treatments, while targeting and destroying cancer cells, can also cause unwanted reactions, such as inflammation and damage to the digestive tract. People undergoing cancer treatment are at a higher risk of developing mucositis. Medications for pain relief and nausea can help manage symptoms, which typically subside within a few weeks after the completion of cancer therapy.

Hina's Breast Cancer Battle

Hina first revealed her stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis in June through an Instagram post, where she opened up about the challenging journey she's facing. She recently took to Instagram to update her followers on her health, announcing that she has completed her fifth round of chemotherapy, with three more sessions left.

With the support of her mother and boyfriend, Rocky Jaiswal, she has faced the challenges with positivity. From enduring tough chemotherapy treatments to cutting her hair and staying committed to her fitness routine, Hina's posts have become a source of inspiration for those going through similar struggles.
