From Heeramandi To The Broken News 2: Top OTT Releases In May

This week's film and web series releases span a wide range of genres, from action and drama to romance and mystery, offering something for everyone.

With the advent of OTT, it is no longer necessary to go to theatres to watch your favourite Bollywood content. And this May, we have a wide collection of movies and series to pick from. Strap in as we go through all the movies and TV shows that making the rounds on OTTs next month.

1. Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar 

Heeramandi is this year's highly anticipated Sanjay Leela Bhansali show that will be released on Netflix on the first of May. Starring Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala and Aditi Rao Hydari, the show is set in the 1940s against the backdrop of the Indian independence struggle. The show is Bhansali's first step into television shows and is speculated to be one of the best shows of the year. 

2. Citadel: Honey Bunny

Featuring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Prabhu, Citadel: Honey Bunny is the Indian adaptation of the American spy thriller Citadel. Set in the 90s, a cross between a spy thriller and a love story and is set to release on Amazon Prime.

3. The Broken News Season 2

This thriller about the media industry will be streaming on OTT platforms from 3 May. The first season of this show received great reception and acclaim for its realistic portrayals of power structures and the news industry. Catch the new season of The Broken News on ZEE5. 

4. Crakk: Jeetega To Jiyega 

This intense thriller starring Nora Fatehi, Vidyut Jammwal and Amy Jackson tells the story of a survival sports game that must be won in order to survive. This adrenaline-pumping fest of a film would be released in late April on Disney Plus Hotstar.

5. Dil Dosti Dilemma 

This film is a cute little drama about a young girl, Asmara who pretends to be vacationing abroad while, in reality, she is forced to stay with her grandparents. The movie is just the best fun watch for a weekend in. Dil Dosti Dilemma is now streaming on Amazon Prime.
