 HBO Max Gossip Girl Reboot: Gossip Girl, the successful CW series of the 2000s, is getting a continuation series on HBO Max, nine years after the original drama ended. The trailer for the reboot series premiered on the YouTube channel of HBO Max on Thursday, June 10.

The show stars The Babysitter actor Emily Alyn Lind, Eli Brown, who appeared in the reboot of Pretty Little Liars, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina - Part 3 and 4 actor Whitney Peak, and Thomas Doherty, who played Harry Hook in Disney's Descendants in the lead roles.

Here are 10 things we know about HBO Max Gossip Girl Reboot:

1. The reboot series of the original show Gossip Girl will have 10 episodes in its first season, and will release on July 8 in the US.

2. The show will start after nine years. The original website of Gossip Girl went dark, and an Instagram account of Gossip Girl has emerged.

3. Kristen Bell, who gave the voice to the infamous Gossip Girl in all the seasons of the original series will continue to do so in the reboot as well.

4. According to Deadline, the new version of the show will tackle contemporary issues which will include social media and online privacy which has changed the dynamics of today's high schools.

5. The official logline of the reboot show also says that the series will address the present situation of how social media and the landscape of New York City, where the show is based, has changed over the years.

6. Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who created the original series are also behind the production of the reboot, along with one of the original writers and producers of the show, Joshua Safran.

7. The newer version of the famous 2000s show, will be very different from the original series. According to Safran's tweet, the Upper East Siders in the reboot will not partake in some of the problematic tropes unlike the characters from the original show.

8. While the original show's main characters were mostly white and cishet, the reboot will have a lot more representation. The lead characters of the show are non-white and it will have several queer characters.

9. The tone of the reboot will be very different from the original series.

10. As of now, there is no news about the original cast to feature in the show. On one hand, Chace Crawford who played Nate Archibald said that he would love to cameo in the reboot, while Penn Badgley, who was seen in the role of Dan Humphrey in the original series seemed ambivalent and said that his cameo in the reboot would depend on a lot of things, as he has never been the greatest fan of Dan Humphrey.
