Harry Potter Reunion Makers Use Emma Roberts' Childhood Photo For Emma Watson

Harry Potter reunion special: January 1, 2022 was a special day for all Harry Potter lovers. The makers of this fantasy film series launched the Harry Potter Reunion episode where the cast came together and reminisced about their time filming the eight movies. While fans all around the world are going crazy about this 20th-anniversary special gift from the Harry Potter makers, they soon found out a big mistake in one of the segments of the show.

The show features all the main cast members from the series, led by including Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton and others who meet again at Hogwarts. While their on-screen equations and alliances are well spelt out in the film, it was a pleasant surprise for fans to see their off-screen chemistry- especially when Watson (Hermione Granger) reunites with Felton (who played Draco Malfoy).

Makers mix up their Emmas

In one of the segments, we see Emma Watson, the English actress who plays Hermione Granger in the fantasy chronicles, reminisce about her childhood. The segment focussed on the childhoods of the series leads and how they landed their iconic roles. During Watson's recollection of her childhood, a picture of hers was used, but one fan noticed the jarring error made by the production team. The photograph used for Watson was actually that of American actor Emma Roberts.

The segment with the error is featured at the beginning of the show. As soon as the eagle-eyed fans noticed it, they pointed it out on social media. These complaints were noticed by the Harry Potter Reunion makers and they realised the goof-up they committed.

The makers then released a statement to acknowledge their mistake and rectify it ASAP. "Well spotted Harry Potter fans! You brought an editing mistake of a mislabeled photograph to our attention. New version up shortly,”, is what the statement in the Entertainment Weekly read.

This is not the only time when the reunion special grabbed eyeballs. Earlier, it was also alleged that JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter novels on which the series is based, was excluded from the guests on the anniversary special. Rowling was also a script reviewer and producer for the Harry Potter movies and her absence raised questions. However, the makers clarified that the author was invited but her team refused it. And therefore, they included an old clip of Rowling, that they shot in 2019, in the Harry Potter Reunion in her stead.
