Taking to social media Saturday, actor Richa Chadha backs Shilpa Shetty in the ongoing porn production case that has led to the arrest of the latter's husband Raj Kundra. Calling out those "blaming women for the mistakes of the men in their lives," Chadha said the practice has become a "national sport."
In the controversy where Kundra has been named by Mumbai Police as the "key conspirator" behind the distribution of illegal adult content online, Shetty moved the Bombay High Court this week seeking a restraint order on media organisations and social media channels publishing content about the case. The HC refused a media gag. More here.
Following Kundra's arrest on July 19, Shetty has been at the receiving end of massive online trolling and slut-shaming. Read an opinion on it here. Among industry colleagues speaking against the hate Shetty is receiving in her husband's case are Chadha and director Hansal Mehta.
We've made a national sport out of blaming women for the mistakes of the men in their lives.

Richa Chadha Backs Shilpa Shetty: Here's How Other Industry Colleagues Reacted
On Twitter, Mehta on Friday asked people to "allow her (Shetty) some dignity and privacy" and "let the law decide" for her in the case. He added it was "unfortunate" that public figures are "proclaimed guilty even before justice is meted out."
The Dhadkan actor has given her statement to the police and reportedly defended Kundra saying the content on Hotshots app at the centre of the storm is more erotica, not porn. Though investigative officers have previously said an "active role" of Shetty has not been detected in the case, she has not been given a clean chit yet. More here.
Model and actor Poonam Pandey, who had filed a case against Kundra in 2019 and has alleged he leaked her private information after an issue with their adult content contract, has expressed sympathy for Shetty as well.
"At this moment my heart goes out to Shilpa Shetty and her kids. I can’t imagine what she must be going through," Pandey said in an interview following Kundra's arrest.
