Gulmohar Trailer: Sharmila Tagore, Manoj Bajpayee Promise An Emotional Family Drama

The trailer for Gulmohar, an upcoming Bollywood film consisting of a star-studded cast of National Award-winners, was released on Saturday. The film also marks veteran actor Sharmila Tagore's comeback to the film industry after 13 years.

Also starring Manoj Bajpayee, Suraj Sharma, the film is directed by Rahul V. Chettila and bankrolled by Vikesh Bhutani and Shujaat Saudagar along with Rahul V. Chettila. The trailer of Gulmohar promises an emotional family drama.

The film revolves around the story of three generations of the Batra family, consisting of Kusum Bhatra (Sharmila Tagore), her son Arun Batra (Manoj Bajpayee), his wife Indu (Simran Bhagga), and his adult children, Aditya (Suraj Sharma) and Divya (Kaveri Seth).

The Batra family has sold their 34-year-old family home and is all set to move to a new city. Kusum Bhatra reveals that she has purchased a house in Pondicherry and is planning on settling there. Arun Batra's son, Aditya, is moving away from the family and wants to be independent. Thus the father-son relationship becomes distant. In the last four days before moving out, they realise that though they've all lived in the same house, they don't know each other. Everyone wants to go their separate ways. The ">trailer also hints at a suspense element revealing Arun Batra's late father's will, which could shatter the family.

Will the Batra family get over their differences and stay together or go separate ways? The questions will be answered after the film's release.

Gulmohar is co-written by Arpita and Rahul V. Chettila. The film's music is being composed by Emmy Award nominee Siddharth Koshla. The cast also includes Suraj Sharma, Amol Palekhar, Kaveri Seth, and Nargis Nandal.

Speaking about the film, director Rahul V. Chellila said, "Times are changing, people’s outlook towards the world and especially towards their families is also constantly changing and evolving. My co-writer, Arpita Mukherjee, and I were keen to explore this reality in a narrative format. The movie is for audiences of all ages to experience love and togetherness with our Batra family."

Manoj Bajpayee added, "Gulmohar is a film with a lot of heart and love. It explores the simplicities and complexities that lie within a family. Sharmila Tagore said, "Gulmohar shows how multi-generational individuals can come together while living their individual lives."

Gulmohar Release Date

Gulmohar is scheduled to release on March 3, 2023 in Disney Hotstar.
