Govinda Naam Mera Review
Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani took the audience through a journey of laughter, thriller and a good time. The film revolves around the ownership of an expensive bungalow and everyone trying to outrace the other in their own ways. It solves the mystery in the end but keeps behind some loose ends.

Produced by Dharma Productions, Govinda Naam Mera is a star-studded venture, held up by a surprising cameo. The film, which is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, has gathered huge expectations. The premise of the plot builds up well in the initial part of the film and is quite surprising towards the end but fails to make the audience stick to their seat while it reveals the mystery.

Govinda Naam Mera Review

Kaushal dives into this comedy-thriller with a lot of 'josh' but the comedy dries up pretty fast for him. His character, Govinda is a guy who is stuck in a rut with the ongoing court case of his home, a failed marriage and a love affair. Kaushal tries his best to serve some charm but in the end, it seems like anyone could have done it if not for him, there wasn't any edge nor any exclusivity to his character.

Coming to the two female leads of the film, Bhumi Pednekar has done a great job for the brief screen time she had. Pednekar gave quite a few laughs and a plays quite a convincing wife role to Govinda and their weird relationship. She deserved a longer screen time and a fleshy role because she is one of the elements that stayed unforgettable from the film. Kiara Advani's role was never focused on laughter but on her cunningness which someway didn't fit into this comic script. This role had a lot to offer but Advani seems to show the same sad face that she has been carrying around since Kabir Singh and Sher Shah.

Renuka Shahane, Viraj Gehlani, Amey Wagh and Trupti Khamkar have done a decent job in their respective side roles. Khamkar's presence on screen brought in laughter immediately and her pairing with Pednekar's character was the best. Shahane is not seen doing comic roles very often and this was quite a surprise. Gehlani who is a known face on the internet for his hilarious rant videos and comedy sketches also deserved more exploration of his character.

The ending of the ">film becomes quite predictable and only the comedy of the script keeps it going. It is a fun watch with family and friends but not something to rewatch or even remember. It is a star-studded film that had a lot of expectations from the audience but in the end, it felt like the movie could have turned out the same if unknown actors were cast.
