Girls’ Generation's Hyoyeon To Release New Single In August

Hyoyeon To Release New Single: Kim Hyo-Yeon, also known as Hyoyeon, from the K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation is all set to make her solo comeback in August.

According to an official from SM Entertainment, the management company of Hyoyeon, the singer will be releasing a new single. This will be Hyoyeon's first comeback after her last single Think About Me that released about nine months ago in October.

Recently, another member of Girls’ Generation, Taeyeon, also made her comeback with her music video Weekend, which ranked No. 1 on several streaming sites including Genie, Bugs, and VIBE. The song also topped iTunes Top Songs charts in 14 regions including Hong Kong, Cambodia, the Philippines,  Saudi Arabia, Chile, Peru, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and United Arab Emirates. '"Weekend" also topped on QQ Music’s digital album sales chart in China.

Who is Hyoyeon?

Hyoyeon or DJ HYO, Kim Hyo-Yeon is a singer, dancer, DJ, and television personality under the South Korean entertainment company SM Entertainment. Hyoyeon made her debut in the industry as a member of the girl group Girls' Generation in August 2007 which became one of the most popular girl groups worldwide.

Hyoyeon made her debut as a solo artist in 2016 with the song "Mystery" as part of S.M. Entertainment's Station music project and released her second single Wannabe, which is a pop dance song featuring the South Korean rapper San E. In April 2018, Hyoyeon made her debut as a DJ with her single Sober and she started promoting as a DJ in domestic club tours and EDM festivals under her new stage name DJ Hyo.

In 2020, the singer released a new single "Dessert" in a collaboration with girl group (G)I-DLE's member Soyeon and the South Korean rapper Loopy.

In an episode of MBC's "Radio Star", Hyoyeon said that she has thought about changing her full-time job to DJ and has also sent a long text message to the founder of SM Entertainment about her dream. She said that she showed him her passion for the work and got her team at SM Entertainment.
