Earlier this week, the creators of the movie Ghoomer revealed their plans to launch the film's trailer on Thursday. Tragically, the launch was cancelled due to the unexpected passing of acclaimed art director Nitin Desai on Wednesday. Nitin Desai was discovered dead at his studio in Karjat, located near Mumbai, as reported by the news agency PTI.
In response to this heartbreaking loss, Abhishek Bachchan expressed his deep respect and condolences for Nitin Desai. As a gesture of honour, they chose to defer the trailer release event, which was originally scheduled for the following day. Instead, the trailer will now be unveiled on August 4th, allowing time for the team and fans to remember and commemorate Nitin Desai's legacy.
Bachchan recently shared an exciting update about his upcoming film Ghoomer, co-starring Saiyami Kher, on his Instagram account. The motion poster was unveiled, giving fans a glimpse of the lead actors in their roles. Bachchan plays the character of Saiyami Kher's coach in the movie. In the clip, Kher is seen outdoors, wearing a white uniform and holding a cricket ball with her left hand. Meanwhile, Bachchan joins her with an intense expression, donning a brown hoodie and pants.
The video starts with a Hindi voiceover that questions the possibility of someone playing for the country with just one hand. The narrator highlights the magical aspect of life, defying conventional logic. The clip concludes with the theme of Ghoomer playing in the background.

R Balki, the director of Ghoomer, has assembled an impressive cast for the film, including Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi in addition to Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher. The movie tells the inspiring tale of Kher's character, a paralympic sportsperson who discovers her exceptional cricketing talent under the guidance of her coach. It promises to be a heartwarming story of overcoming challenges and turning adversity into opportunity.
The film is said to have drawn inspiration from the remarkable true story of Károly Takács, the first shooter to win two Olympic gold medals in the 25-metre rapid-fire pistol event using his left hand after a serious right-hand injury.
The film has garnered additional recognition as it is chosen as the opening film for the 14th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. Both R. Balki and Abhishek expressed their delight and pride at this honour.
