Basra and off-break bowler Singh got married in 2015. After starting a family together the actor has not taken up any film projects and focused solely on her family life. She last appeared in the Punjabi film Lock which was released in 2016.

Basra said that she does not believe women should give up on their passions after marriage at all. “I have grown up with a working mum who has raised her family so well. Whatever we have today is because of her. I take that as my inspiration. I don’t think women should give up on any of their passions,” she told PinkVilla.

However, it was Basra's personal choice to take a break from work and would only make a comeback when she is ready. The actor said that she enjoys motherhood and her experience of being a mom is the most fulfilling role for her. “Being a mother is the most rewarding and fulfilling role I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve loved every moment of being with Hinaya. It was a personal choice that I didn’t want to work. I was enjoying motherhood so much and enjoying her milestones”.

The actor also wanted to make sure that she was there for every single moment of her kid’s life. She said she wanted to be completely there for her daughter Hinaya’s, “first walk, her first laugh, her first word”.

The actor is pregnant with her second child. She shared this news with her fans on March 14 via Instagram. She posted a photo of herself, Harbhajan Singh, and their daughter “Coming soon.. July 2021” she wrote in the caption. Read more on that here.
