Gangubai Kathiawadi Theatre Release: Sanjay Leela Bhansali directional Gangugai Kathiawadi revealed its release date on Thursday. The film is all set to hit the theatres on February 25, 2022.
The announcement of September 30 cleared the air about the film's release as there were speculations about it being released on OTT platforms. The film's cast member, actor Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed it on Twitter. Devgn wrote, “She rose to power amidst the flames of hardships. The wait is about to get over,” Devgn wrote in his tweet on September 30."
Considering the improving COVID-19 situation in India, many states have partially opened the cinema theatres for the public. This has made filmmakers gear up for the release of films were past the post-production phase. Multiple women-centric films are lines up for release either later this year or in 2022.

Darlings
Alia Bhatt starrer and her first production, Darlings is also expected to release sometime this year. The film has been co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan's banner Red Chillies Entertainment. The film touted as Dark Comedy has actor Shefali Shah and Bhatt in lead roles. As per the details revealed by the makers, the film is set in a middle-class society in Mumbai.
Jee Le Zaraa
Recently announced film starring Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt will be about road trip. The film has been written by Farhan Akhtar, Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar. Farhan Akhtar will direct the film and it will be a collaborative production between Tiger Baby's Reema Kagti, Zoya Akhtar and Excel Entertainment's Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar.
Dhaakad
Touted to be the most expensive female-centric film, Kangana Ranaut starrer is all set to release on October 1 this year. The spy-thriller film with Ranaut in lead role has been directed by Razneesh Ghai. It also have Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta playing pivotal roles. The wrapped its shooting schedule in August this year and the makers shared some new stills from the sets.
Rashmi Rocket
Taapsee Pannu starrer recently came out with its trailer. The film is all set to hit the OTT screens on October 15. The film is sports drama based on the life of a fictional female athlete who represents the struggles faced by real ones like her. The trailer of the film revealed that Pannu's character, Rashmi, has to fight the system to get back on field as she fails the gender test.
