The sequel to Anil Sharma's 2001 blockbuster cross-border action romance, Gadar 2, unveiled its trailer on Wednesday. Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are back to reprise their memorable roles as Tara Singh and Sakina. The sequel also features Anil Sharma's son, Utkarsh Sharma.
In the recently released Gadar 2 trailer, viewers witness the intense plot as Tara and Sakina's son, Jeete (played by Utkarsh Sharma), face torment at the hands of a Pakistani army general. Tara, filled with anguish, vows to bring Jeete back and embarks on a journey to Lahore, where he confronts and defeats Pakistani soldiers with a sledgehammer. The trailer concludes with Tara facing a pivotal moment, gazing at a hand pump, hinting at a significant event to come.

The trailer launch event took place on Kargil Vijay Divas and was graced by Anil Sharma, Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, and others from the film's cast and crew. Sunny Deol expressed his gratitude to the devoted fans of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, promising that Gadar 2 will deliver even more action, emotions, and entertainment for the audience.
During the launch, Deol shared a profound message, emphasising the importance of humanity over animosity. He stressed that the film reflects the theme of how the political blame game can breed hatred, but at its core, the people from both nations are essentially one and the same, seeking harmony and understanding.
Deol also became emotional and teary-eyed upon seeing the overwhelming love and support from the audience, who had gathered from different parts of India for the launch of the Gadar 2 trailer. Ameesha Patel, his co-star, comforted him during this heartfelt moment. The touching video capturing their emotional connection has since gone viral on social media.
