Actor Gurucharan Singh, known for his role as Roshan Singh Sodhi in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, returned home on May 17 after being missing since April 22. According to an India Today report, the Delhi Police revealed that Singh had been on a religious journey.
Jennifer Mistry has shared her thoughts on her Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah co-star Gurucharan Singh's return home. In an interview with News18, Jennifer expressed her relief and mentioned that she always believed he would come back. However, she noted that he should have informed his family before embarking on his spiritual journey.
Jennifer stated, "This is good news. He had been missing for almost a month, and everyone was worried, from his parents to his fans. I had a feeling he was on a spiritual journey, as he is a very spiritual person. I'm happy that there is no trouble, and I'm sure his parents are relieved now."
Actor Gurucharan Singh Returns Home, Reveals Why Did He Disappear
Gurucharan Singh's disappearance had caused concern, leading to the Delhi Police filing a kidnapping case and launching an investigation. After returning home, Singh explained to the police that he had embarked on a spiritual quest, leaving his worldly life behind. During his journey, he visited several gurudwaras in cities such as Amritsar and Ludhiana. However, after some time, he realised the importance of returning home and decided to end his journey.
The police investigation uncovered that Singh is a follower of a meditation-practising sect. He expressed interest in travelling to the Himalayas for meditation. This religious and spiritual inclination explains his sudden departure and prolonged absence.
Singh's family and fans were relieved to see him return safely. His decision to leave without informing anyone had caused significant worry and speculation about his well-being. The actor's return marks the end of a distressing period for his loved ones and fans, who had been anxiously waiting for any news about him.

The news of Gurucharan Singh's disappearance came to light on April 26 after his father filed a missing person's report. His father's complaint stated, "My son Gurucharan Singh, age 50, had left at 8:30 am on April 22 to go to Mumbai. He went to the airport to catch a flight. He didn’t reach Mumbai, nor has he returned home, and his phone is not reachable. He is mentally stable, and we had been searching for him, but now he has been missing."
According to a report by News18 Showsha, Gurucharan's missing complaint was filed in the Palam area of New Delhi. Police officials are actively investigating the case and trying to trace the actor's call records. A police source shared, "The missing complaint was filed around 4 days ago in Palam, South Delhi. Based on this, the police are investigating the case. No FIR has been filed as of now. All investigations are being done based on the missing complaint."
The police further revealed, "He (Gurucharan Singh Sodhi) was last spotted near Delhi airport. Police are now trying to get his call records to know who he last spoke to on call or via message."
According to a report from NDTV, initial investigations by the Delhi Police revealed that Singh, who was soon to be married, was facing financial difficulties. Reports indicate that he withdrew ₹7,000 from an ATM in Delhi, and his last known location on April 24 was in Palam, a few kilometres from his home. His phone has been switched off since then.
Officials stated that Gurucharan Singh's flight was scheduled for 8.30 pm on Monday (April 22), but he was seen at a traffic intersection in Palam around 9.14 p.m. CCTV footage captured him crossing the road with a backpack. Gurucharan's father reported that he departed from Delhi to Mumbai by flight on April 22 but did not reach his destination. The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage near his residence to trace his route to the airport
