What does it take for youngsters, especially children, to cast themselves in the TV and film industry? Is it easy just because acting is "easy"? Or is it as difficult as it is to enter any other profession? Do dreams break? What do they do when it does? Answering these questions and more, the docu-series First Act is going to hit the OTT platform Prime Video on December 15.
Through the trailer, we can understand that the series is about freshers getting into the TV industry. It talks about children's dreams to be actors and how they fulfil them. It also shows the struggles that this field encompasses. Through real-life stories of established child artists, the series aims to reflect what it takes for a child to be an actor in today's industry.
Child artists such as Sarika, Jugal Hansraj, Darsheel, Saloni, Parzaan Dastur, and others have been cast in the series. They are seen talking about their own struggles during their days as freshers in the TV industry There were laughs, victories, failures and tears. The series takes us through their life to show the not-so-glamourous part of being an actor. Actors come from every sector of the society. And they are not just the ones who have money and fame to support their dream.
Parental support is crucial
Another beautiful thing about the trailer is the depiction of parental support. Usually, in our society, parental support is absent when a child wants to pursue a career in arts. But in First Act, we see parents being the biggest support of their children who want to tread the tightrope of an acting career. When the children fail or feel disappointed, it is the parents who offer support and encouragement.
