The Mumbai Police has registered more than 19,000 cases against over 20,000 people for lockdown violations between April 5 and June 1. Most of these cases have been registered against people who were found roaming in a public place without a reason, while many of the cases have been registered against people not wearing masks and crowding in public places. All the other cases have been registered against non-essential shops, hotels, and vehicle that violated lockdown rules.
Shroff and Patani however aren't the first celebrities from the entertainment industry to have been booked for not following COVID restrictions. In March, Actor Gauahar Khan was booked by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation for allegedly shooting while she was tested positive for COVID-19. Sharing the FIR copy, the BMC tweeted, “No Compromise On City’s Safety! BMC has filed an FIR against a Bollywood actor for non-compliance to COVID19 guidelines on testing positive. The rules apply to all alike and we urge citizens to follow all guidelines and help the city beat the virus.” Read more about it here.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi was booked for not wearing a mask in a public place in February this year. The actor later thanked Mumbai Police for making him realise that safety is always most important. "Be safe,Wear a helmet & a mask," he tweeted.
On the work front, Patani was seen this year in the film Radhe alongside Salman Khan. Since cinema halls are closed due to the pandemic, Khan and Patani's film had a digital release. Patani is now working on an upcoming project KTina produced by Ekta Kapoor and will also be seen in the upcoming film Ek Villain 2.
