Darlings, Liger, Dobaara — A Guide To Most Awaited Films Releases In August

A handful of the most eagerly anticipated Bollywood movies will be released in August. The suspenseful criminal drama, Darlings, starring three of the best performers, Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, and Vijay Varma, will be released at the beginning of the month. The movie will serve as Bhatt's Eternal Sunshine Productions' maiden production, making it unique in many respects.

The movie will be followed by two big-starrer movies, one of which is Lal Singh Chaddha, one of the most eagerly anticipated films from Aamir Khan. The movie has been postponed numerous times, but it is finally ready to hit theatres. This movie also serves as Khan's return to the screen after 2018. The film will also compete with Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Raksha Bandhan. Meanwhile, Liger, a pan-Indian movie starring Ananya Panday and Vijay Deverakonda, will be released at the end of the month. As the month draws closer and the makers announce details about their films' releases, more names can be added to the list. Five Most Awaited Films To Release In August 2022

Darlings

The mother-daughter team of Alia Bhatt and Shefali Shah will play the main characters in this dark comedy-drama set in Mumbai. Shah portrays her mother, Rukhsar Qureshi, while Bhatt plays Badrunissa "Badru" Shaikh. The key characters in the film are also played by Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew. According to the movie's trailer, Vijay Varma plays Bhatt's husband, Hamza, who is abducted and tortured by the mother-daughter team in the movie. The trailer also shows flashes of Badrunissa being struck and tossed to the ground, suggesting that the mother-daughter duo are looking to exact retribution on Hamza for the brutality he perpetrated on her. The film will be released on Netflix on August 5.

Laal Singh Chaddha

The official Hindi remake of the 1994 American movie Forrest Gump, Laal Singh Chaddha stars Aamir Khan in the titular role and Kareena Kapoor in the role of Rupa, his childhood love. Laal Singh Chadha, an autistic man who experiences a wide range of emotions, recounts the tale of some of the most important occasions in Indian history. This movie features historical events like the Emergency, the 1983 Cricket World Cup, and the 1999 Kargil War. The movie is slated to hit theatres on August 11.

Raksha Bandhan

The central themes of the comedy-drama starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar are love and the bond between siblings. Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, and Smrithi Srikanth all play the roles of Kumar's sisters in the movie. In the movie, Kumar plays a businessman who also runs a restaurant. His love interest, Pednekar, is seen asking about their planned wedding while he looks for a suitable man for his sisters. Raksha Bandhan is slated for theatrical release on August 11, 2022.

Dobaara

Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati star in the mystery-drama movie Dobaaraa, which is an adaptation of the 2018 Spanish film Mirage. Mirage tells the tale of Vera, a single mother who talks with a child's ghost and saves his life. Her actions, however, lead to a space-time continuum defect that changes reality. The movie will be released in theatres on August 19.

Liger

Liger is a star in sports-action movies. Along with Ananya Panday, Ronit Roy, and Ramya Krishna, who play crucial parts, Vijay Deverakonda plays the movie's titular MMA fighter boxer. Panday will play Deverakonda's love interest, and Ramya Krishna will play his mother. The trailer showed Deverakonda in the role of a kickboxer. The legendary boxer Mike Tyson appears in the film as well, reportedly in a negative role. The movie Liger is slated for theatrical release on August 25.
