'One Tree Hill; is in the works on Netflix. The new tease was dropped by one of the lead actors, Hilarie Burton, who played Peyton Sawyer on the show. The series has been very female-dominated, with the three main characters being female. The OG gang has a total of five members, the other two are men. But they only add to the feminist underlining in the show and never take away from it.

... is the core of anything successful: Burton tells People Magazine

While talking to People Magazine, Burton expresses what female camaraderie means to her. For her, it is not just about comfort or a sense of ease but the productivity and firmness with which women work together that feels supreme.

She considers the output to be successful then. "What I can say is that this go-around, being able to work with a team of women and look at these stories and characters through a female lens is truly something that - whether I was doing a reboot or a brand new show or a different movie at this phase in my live, female teamwork is something that is so vital to me," she quotes.

"It is the core of anything that I have done that is successful. So I'm excited to be able to team up with people that I look up to, people I love dearly."

Why did it take 7 years for the reboot to arrive?

The aggressive feminist acknowledgement and the coming together of girl power might be the hefty conclusion of what happened seven years ago. During the filming of One Tree Hill, Burton along with Sofia accused the show's maker Mark Schwahn of sexual harassment.

"Mark Schwahn's behaviour throughout the filming of 'One Tree Hill' was something of an open secret. Many of us were, to varying degrees manipulated, psychologically and emotionally. More than one of us is still in the treatment for post-traumatic stress. Many of us were put in uncomfortable positions and had to swiftly learn to fight back, sometimes physically, because it was made clear to us that the supervisors in the room were not the protectors they were supposed to be," Burton shares in her conversation with People

While no public statement was given by Schwahn on this instance, he was soon removed from his position as the showrunner of E's.
