Key Takeaways:

  • Movies introduced many inspirational female characters like Geet (Jab We Met), women hockey team of Chak De India!, Ambar from Salaam Namaste and Mulan.
  • Books also introduced us to many inspirational characters like Katniss Everdeen and Hermoine Granger.
  • Female characters from TV series of the 2000s also inspired us in many ways.

“From making a father feel proud of her daughter to showing that girls are equal to boys, these women did it all.”

Inspirational Female characters

First and foremost, Geet from Jab We Met was an inspiration to all the girls. She was the queen of positivity and wasn't afraid to break stereotypes. Geet's response when the railway inquiry officer told her that she shouldn't travel alone because girls are like an open treasure is my absolute favourite. She just simply tells the officer that she hopes that the officer doesn't charge for his advice because she didn't have pennies. Hermione Granger was one witch who inspired us so much. She was smart and the best friend you could ever ask for! Most importantly Hermione saved her friends every time. Harry was the boy who lived and Hermione was the reason he continued to do so.

And the whole team of women hockey players from Chak De India! inspired us in various ways. These diverse groups of women came from different backgrounds and broke every stereotype. From making a father feel proud of his daughter to showing that girls are equal to boys, these women did it all. Another character, Ambar from Salaam Namaste told us to be independent is cool.

“She taught us that women are as strong as men if they believe so.”

Hunger Games brought the most inspirational female, Katniss Evergreen, Katniss showcased courage. She inspired us to stand for our loved ones. She is one of the bravest women that any book series could introduce.  She taught us that no matter what our background is, we can always bring change in the world. Talking of brave women, Mulan in the film by the same name is another character that inspired us. She taught us that women are as strong as men if they believe so. She also taught us to never give up!

“Hannah taught us that you get hurt in life but what's important is that you stand back after you fall.”

TV series of the 2000s also brought many inspirational characters. Hannah Montana was one of them. Hannah taught us that you can be 'the one' in a million if you just believe in yourself. She also taught us that everybody has many roles in life; we just need to balance it all. Also, she taught us that you get hurt in life but what's important is that you stand back up after you fall. The ladies from the TV series Shararat:  Thoda Jaadu, Thodi Nazaakat taught us that there are many problems in life but all of them can be solved together. And obviously that’s the magic!
