Female Cast Of Thalaivi: Kangana Ranaut is all set to offer you yet another impactful performance with her upcoming film Thalaivi. The 3.22-minute trailer was recently dropped on social media and it came packed with powerful scenes and dialogues that impressed social media users.
The film will be focusing on the journey of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and taking the audience through the transition from a movie star into a politician. Directed by AL Vijay, the film has Kangana Ranaut in the titular role.
While Ranaut's uncanny resemblance with Jayalalithaa stunned us, fans can’t stop gushing over a viral picture from the trailer that reminds us of an old picture of the late Tamil Nadu CM and then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Interestingly, the viral snap has been recreated with Ranaut wearing a similar green saree while felicitating Indira Gandhi at an event (the actor playing Gandhi is still unrevealed).

Speaking to the Indian Express, she said that she had shot a few scenes with Ranaut and they have come out pretty well.
Madhoo
Roja star Madhoo Shah is reportedly playing former Chief Minister MG Ramachandran's wife Janaki Ramachandran. After former All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) founder MGR's death, Janaki took over the responsibilities of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. In an interview, Madhoo spoke about her role in Thalaivi and said that it is one of the most crucial characters. “I am doing a biopic for the first time, and of someone who is a renowned personality. Janaki Amma and Jayalalitha Amma have very few scenes together in the film as Thalaivi is mainly based on Jayalalithaa and MGR's relationship and political career. However, Janaki is an important character, which gives a different twist to the film's story,” she said.
Poorna
As the latest addition to the star cast, actor Poorna aka Shamna Kasim has been roped in to play the controversial role of Sasikala in the film. She will be seen supporting Ranaut's character as the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s aide and Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AAMK) leader.
