Kaagaz
Platform: Zee5
Pankaj Tripathi starrer released in January this year giving a lot of hope with its real-life heartfelt story. The film has been presented by Salman Khan and has been directed by Satish Kaushik. The film narrates the story of Bharat Lal aka Lal Bihar who belongs to Azamgarh and has fought battles in court for 18 years to prove that he is alive.
The director in one of his interviews said, "I did a lot of research on the events that took place in his life, eventually, it felt to me like this story deserved to be told to the world and we could have not asked for a better production partner than Salman Khan Films (SKF) and then ZEE5 to showcase it. Now, it's just a click away for the audiences."

The unique film essays the story of a widow who is not really as devastated by her husband's death as society expects her to be. Sanya Malhotra in the lead role delicately narrates the struggle of a woman who does not get to make her own life and is pushed into an arranged marriage. The film also depicts the drama that takes place in a middle-class family in a way that keeps the audience rolling with laughter. It has been directed by Umesh Bist and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Sikhya Entertainment.
Ram Prasad ki Tehrvi
Platform: Netflix
The movie after its release made a mark on the audience with its one-of-a-kind plot based on the funeral of a senior family member. The middle-class Bhargava family gets together for 13 days to perform the last rites of the head of the family, played by Naseeruddin Shah. The film has been directed and written by Seema Pahwa. The film has a rich ensemble cast starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Supriya Pathak, Vikrant Massey among others. Jio Studios has produced the film with Drishyam Films which was released in January 2019.
Sardar Ka Grandson
Platform: Netflix
Arjun Kapoor starrer released in May this year. In the film, he is seen as someone who can go to any lengths to fulfill the last wish of her grandmother, Sardar. The role of Sardar has been played by Neena Gupta. Written by Anuja Chauhan, the film has been directed by Kaashvie Nair with dialogue inputs from Amitosh Nagpal. It has been called a cross-border love story. Actors such as Rakulpreet Singh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Soni Razdan, Kanwaljit Singh, Kumud Mishra and John Abraham are also seen in the film essaying pivotal roles.

Laxman Utekar directional released in July this year. Starring Kriti Sanon and Pankaj Tripathi in lead roles, the essayed the story of a surrogate mother who sees everything going wrong. It has been adapted from a National Award-winning Marathi film titled Mala Aai Vhhaychy. Actors such as Supriya Pathak, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa among others are cast in pivotal roles. Sanon who plays the surrogate mother in the film gets to know that the foreign couple who asked her to be their surrogate cannot go ahead with the plan. That is when she decided to raise the child on her own and faces many struggles for doing that.
