This film, named Abir Gulaal, was officially announced by the makers on October 7. The film, which began shooting on September 29, is set against the stunning backdrop of London. Filming will continue throughout October and November, showcasing the city's picturesque charm. The plot follows the journey of two individuals who, through their efforts to help each other heal, unexpectedly find love along the way.
Abir Gulaal is directed by Aarti S. Bagdi, known for her work on Chalti Rahe Zindagi, and is produced by Indian Stories, A Richer Lens, and Aarjay Pictures. The production also boasts an international support cast from both India and the UK. Adding to the film’s appeal, a top Bollywood music composer has crafted six original tracks, which will be performed by some of the industry's leading singers.
The film marks Fawad’s return after an eight-year hiatus, following the ban on Pakistani artists in India after the 2016 Uri attacks. Meanwhile, he has remained active in Pakistani cinema, starring in the successful The Legend of Maula Jatt (2022) and Marvel’s Ms. Marvel series.
Fawad, known for his performances in Khoobsurat and Kapoor & Sons, will once again grace Bollywood screens, much to the delight of his fans. Vaani will play the female lead opposite Fawad. The film is generating buzz for the on-screen chemistry between the two stars, showcased in their first-look images. However, it is also facing controversy, with calls for a boycott trending on Twitter.
