Fashion influencer Surbhi Jain, beloved for her vibrant presence on Instagram, passed away at the age of 30 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, as confirmed by her family on social media. Jain had been undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer, a challenging journey she shared with her followers.
Who Was Surbhi Jain?
In her final Instagram post, shared eight weeks prior, she expressed her struggles with her health, stating, "I know I haven’t updated you all about my health which feels wrong seeing the number of msgs I am getting about it everyday. But Things haven’t been keeping too well. So there isn’t much to share."
Her note further read, "Past 2 months I have spent mostly in the hospital. There has been some complication because of which my food has also been stopped since past 1 month and I have a tube attached through my nose. So I am on continous IV. Treatment is going on, It’s difficult and I just want all this to end. 🙏🏻"
Her family announced her passing on her official social media accounts, revealing that she passed away on Thursday and was cremated on April 19 in Ghaziabad.
In a heartfelt note shared with her followers at the beginning of 2024, Surbhi expressed her hopes and prayers for the new year. Reflecting on the challenges she faced in 2023, she opened up about the toughest year of her life, saying, "As I write this sitting on the hospital bed on the first day, I pray that the rest of you will be kind to me. 2023 has been the toughest year of my life. People see my few good days but not the majority bad days. I cried, I fought, I broke down but didn’t give up. 2024 please show mercy and love."
This wasn't the first time Surbhi Jain faced cancer. Diagnosed for the second time, she had previously undergone major surgery at the age of 27, leaving her with 149 stitches and enduring pain. Reflecting on her journey, she shared, "Today, I create content to keep myself busy and face each day with a smile."
Ovarian cancer, originating in the ovaries, is a significant health concern for women, often diagnosed at advanced stages due to its stealthy progression. It ranks as the third most common cancer in women in India, with symptoms that can be easily mistaken for less severe conditions.
