Schitt's Creek emerged from nothing; it required time to gain its footing. It's the story of how a wealthy family is forced to leave their opulent lifestyles and relocate to a tiny town after losing their fortune, and it's now considered one of the funniest series of the decade. It takes on a moral shape with actual values as it evolves, and it makes sure to make you laugh at the same time.
Full House
Do you want to do nostalgia the proper way? Your best bet is a Full House. It chronicles the Tanner family's pranks, reminding us of the value of family in the past. When it's finished, if you still want to see more of the Tanners, you can watch Fuller House, which is a reboot of the show.
Modern Family
Modern Family premiered in 2009 and depicted the modern-day interpretation of the shifting family structure, bringing a fresh perspective to life. The creators took a mockumentary method (similar to The Office) to depict the daily activities of the Pritchett, Dunphy, and Tucker families as they poke fun at themselves and each other. Not to mention the furious family quarrels.

Using the Heck family's distinct characteristics to provide big laughs—Axl, the oldest, who couldn't care less; Sue, the middle child, who is trying to find her way in life; Brick, with his many eccentricities; Frankie, the mother, dealing with the family; and Mike, who is attempting to bring the family together with minimal involvement. It's the ideal family watch for watching and forgetting about the outer world for a while.
Downtown Abbey
Downton Abbey is a period drama created by Julian Fellowes that follows the Crawley family, the proprietors of Downton Estate, and their domestic staff in the post-Edwardian era. A lot is going on in the world during the series, from the sinking of the Titanic in the opening scene through the commencement of the First World War. It's clever, well-dressed (have you seen their costumes?) and charismatic, making it a must-see.
