The upcoming series by BBC and Amazon Prime Video called The English is all set to star Emily Blunt in the lead along with Chaske Spencer.
The show is going to be directed by Hugo Blick who has also written it. Blick is known for his work in The Honourable Woman. The show is currently being filmed in Spain. Apart from Emily Blunt and Chaske Spnecerhe cast also includes Tom Hughes, Stephen Rea, Valerie Pachner, Toby Jones, Ciaran Hinds, Malcolm Storry, Steve Wall, Nichola McAuliffe, Sule Rimi and Cristian Solimeno.
The story of The English is set in the mid-American landscape of 1890, where the story follows an English woman from Britain to the west, Cornelia Locke played by Emily Blunt. She seeks revenge for her son's death from a man that she thinks is responsible. She meets Eli Whipp played by Chaske Spencer who is an ex-cavalry scout and member of the Pawnee Nation by birth. Both team up and find that they share a history which they must beat up or else it'll pose a threat to their survival.
The series is produced by the Drama Republic with Greg Brenman serving as executive producer alongside Blunt and Blick. And it will air on BBC One and will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video in countries like the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Blunt is going to be seen in two upcoming movies - A Quiet Place 2 and Jungle Cruise. She will have Dwayne Johnson as her co-star in the latter. Recently she also shut down the rumours of her casting in the Fantastic Four. She said, "That is fan casting. No one has received a phone call, that’s just people saying, ‘Wouldn’t that be great."
Blunt also said that the genre has been “exhausted” and has left her feeling “a bit cold”.
