Eliza Dushku: Eliza Dushku is the latest Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2004) actor to voice her support for Charisma Carpenter, who alleged that Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon “abused his power”.
Carpenter stated that Whedon would regularly issue "passive-aggressive threats to fire" her and would make public, disparaging comments about her weight in front of fellow coworkers. Other cast members from Buffy such as the star Sarah Michelle Gellar, Michelle Trachtenberg, Amber Benson, and Emma Caulfield have also voiced their support for Carpenter.
Dushku wrote the following in an Instagram post - “CC, my heart aches for you and I’m so sorry you have held this for so long. Your post was powerful, painful, and painted a picture we’ll collectively never un-see or un-know.”
The actor from Buffy the Vampire Slayer who supported Carpenter had this to say. “While I am proud to have my name associated with Buffy Summers, I don’t want to be forever associated with the name Joss Whedon.” Sarah Michelle Gellar wrote on Instagram.
Michelle Trachtenberg, who was only 15-years-old when she assumed her role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, stated that there was a rule saying he wasn’t allowed be in a room alone with her.
The cast of Buffy isn’t the only cast to speak out against Whedon’s behaviour. Justice League actor Ray Fisher took to Twitter to state that –
Joss Whedon’s on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable.
He was enabled, in many ways, by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg.
