Ayushmann Khurrana's highly anticipated movie, Dream Girl 2 trailer signalled the return of the beloved Pooja avatar. Following the success of the first film, the sequel once again boasts the direction of Raaj Shaandilya. The film also features Ananya Panday.
In the trailer, Ayushmann Khurrana takes his portrayal of Pooja to a whole new level by not only lending his voice but also fully immersing himself in the character by donning her appearance. As Pooja, he embarks on another mischievous journey, hilariously pranking and fooling numerous unsuspecting men, which is sure to keep the audience entertained.

Dream Girl 2 features a star-studded lineup of veteran comic actors, such as Rajpal Yadav, Annu Kapoor, Asrani, and Paresh Rawal, who make delightful appearances throughout the trailer. Annu Kapoor, in particular, shares a side-splitting moment as he humorously waxes Khurrana’s chest, adding to the film's comical charm.

Meanwhile, Ananya Panday showcases her acting prowess by portraying the female lead, and in some delightful scenes, she is seen engaging in romance with Khurrana's male avatar. Khurrana had earlier given fans a glimpse of his glamorous woman avatar in a film poster, where he reprised his iconic role as Pooja. The poster depicted him looking at his true self in the mirror while applying lipstick, giving a sneak peek into the upcoming movie's theme and showcasing Khurrana's versatility as an actor.
Dream Girl 2 serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit film, Dream Girl, where Khurrana portrayed the character of a call centre employee adept at impersonating Pooja's female voice to engage with callers. The first instalment featured a stellar cast, including Nushrratt Bharuccha, Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Vijay Raaz, and Abhishek Banerjee. Together, they contributed to the film's massive success, grossing an impressive worldwide box office collection of Rs. 200 crore.
Dream Girl 2, initially scheduled for a July release, has encountered a slight delay and will now hit theatres on August 25. The reason behind the postponement was disclosed by the filmmakers, who cited the need for extensive VFX work to ensure the film's visual effects meet the desired standards.
