Did Drake Use Halle Berry's Picture With Permission?

The Oscar winner actor known for her role as Batwoman, Halle Berry is appreciated by many rappers inlcuding Kanye West, Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar who have also mentioned her in their songs.

It was all good up until rapper Drake took it a little too far when he used Berry's old photograph drenched in slime for his latest single cover Slime You Out.

In response, Berry first shared a quote post on her Instagram that read "Sometimes you have to be the bigger guy... even if you are a woman!" The post did not fully explain the situation but fans got the clue as the post was shared on the same day as Drake released his song.

As a user commented asking Berry how she felt about Drake using her image Berry replied "Didn't get my permission. It's not cool. I thought better of him."

Another user claimed that the image is owned by Getty Images and can license the image with a fee, to which Berry replied that the actor should have asked her first. She then revealed that Drake's team contacted her team seeking permission to which she clearly said NO as she did not like the image and he chose to still use it.

Berry says "You see... that is the disrespectful. Not cool!" Berry also added "Why ask if you intend to do what you want to do? That was f*** to me. Not cool. You get it?"

The song featuring Drake's upcoming studio album For All The Dogs, Slime You Out features SZA dropped on September 15. The singer shared the image of the song on his Instagram even after Berry criticised him publicly.

Drake refrained from commenting on the situation, Berry said she had no interest in suing him and she was just standing up for herself. However, Berry's anger is justified, as the innocence of her image does not mitigate Drake's disregard for using her photograph without her will.
