What is the storyline of Downton Abbey 2?
The script of the second instalment is penned by the Oscar-winning Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes. The original film was set in the early part of the 20th Century in the Yorkshire countryside. The film follows the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their domestic staff. Previously, we witnessed the visit to the Crawley family from King George V and Queen Mary of England during a royal tour through Yorkshire. The storyline began in 1927, picking up about a year or so after the television series finale which came to an end in 2015.
The plot details of the second part haven't been revealed so far.
What is the release date?
The follow-up to the 2019 release is helmed by Simon Curtis. Downton Abbey 2 is slated to hit the theatres in December 22, 2021.
Why is Downton Abbey popular?
The period drama Downton Abbey, which had a successful run of six seasons, dramatizes the lives of the aristocratic family and of their servants, as well as their interactions. The strange interplay of characters from the upper and lower classes could be the main appeal of the film and series of the same name.
Although the drama may not determine the accurate sense of the life on estates in post-Edwardian England or present realistic characters but doesn’t lack in the area of entertainment. The PBS series bagging 11 nominations during its run proves its popularity.
