Harry Styles and Florence Pugh's star Don't Worry Darling was a much-talked psychological thriller in 2022. While a few viewers loved it, many found it to be a cliche and similar to other psychological films. Olivia Wilde directed this 1950s sophomore drama Don't Worry Darling, giving it a psychological thriller punch.
However, if you did or did not like Don't Worry Darling, here is a list of other psychological Thrillers one can watch over the weekend.
Here Are 5 Horror Psycho Thrillers To Watch
- The Stepford Wives (2004):
The Stepford Wives adapted from a 1972 novel with the same title. Alice and the other wives in the film Don't Worry Darling in their Sunday dresses, being the perfect wives, reminded us of Stepford wives. The Stepford Wives has a similar story plot- the nanochips are put in women's brains, while the men work in mysterious jobs that wives shan't question. With its black humour and eerie essence, The Stepford Wives is truly a work of bright wit and ahead of its time.
2) The Invisible Man (2020):
This thriller is again a novel adaptation of the same title. The Invisible Man deserves to be on the list for its eerie creeps, as it is similar to Don't Worry Darling. Cecilia's ex-boyfriend fakes his death and becomes invisible, using his optics expertise to stalk and torment her, keeping a close watch on her. Just like Alice from Don't Worry Darling, Cecilia faces similar creepy experiences of being followed, watched, or strange happenings that add up to her suspicion, which turns into horror.

3) Midsommar (2019):
If talking about Florence Pugh, the queen of psychological thrillers, we cannot leave Midsommar, especially when it has a dysfunctional couple just like Don't Worry Darling. The films' plots might differ in many ways, but a few similarities of hallucinations, being stuck in a cult or an AI experimental world.
4) Vivarium (2019):
Vivarium is about stuck in a world that's never-ending- a time loop. The whole movie runs around the couple Gemma and Tom stuck in a world that they try to escape but back to square one. It felt similar to hysteria of Alice feeling stuck in the experimental world that she thought to be her home. While Alice in Don't Worry Darling manages to escape from the simulation world, Gemma and Tom in Vivarium succumbs to it with a more horrifying ending than you can imagine.
5. Gaslight (1944)
This psychological thriller is about gaslighting in the most manipulative way. While no one talks much about husbands gaslighting their wives in the world of Don't Worry Darling. A scene where Jack is gaslighting Alice on noticing unusual things took me back to the classic film Gaslight. The film shows Paula, a trainee opera singer with her beloved partner Gregory moves to the London house of her recently murdered aunt. There Paula starts experiencing unusual happenings, just like Alice. Similar to Jack, even Gregory gaslights Paula, telling her it is the imaginations.
