The Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Doctor G’s release date has finally been revealed and is set to release this year. The actor shared the first poster of the upcoming medical comedy-drama along with the release date for the film.
In November 2021, it was announced that Doctor G would release on June 17, 2022, but it was later postponed. Khurrana took to social media to share the new release date for the upcoming medical comedy.
Apart from Khurrana, Doctor G also stars actors Shefali Shah, Rakul Preet Singh, and Sheeba Chadha in key roles. The film has been directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, sister of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap who marks her directorial debut. Doctor G is produced by Junglee Pictures.
Doctor G features Khurrana as Dr Uday Gupta, a medical student aiming to become a gynaecologist. Singh will star opposite Khurrana as Dr Fatima, a medical student and Shah will play the role of Dr Nandini, a senior medical practitioner. Chadha will be playing the role of Khurrana’s mother in the film.
Khurrana earlier spoke about playing a gynaecologist in Doctor G and said, “It’s an honour to portray a doctor on the screen for the first time.” He added that he was “truly excited” to shoot the film as it would allow him to relieve his memories of being a student and living in a hostel.
Delhi Crime star Shefali Shah praised the film's script, written by Vishal Wagh, Saurabh Bharat, Sumit Saxena, and Kashyap and said she looked forward to working with the Doctor G team.
Doctor G Release
Ayushmann Khurrana took to social media and shared the poster for Doctor G along with the film’s release date. Khurrana wrote in the caption, “Get ready for your appointments, #DoctorG will attend to you in theatres from 14th October 2022.”
The film was initially set to release earlier this year in June but was postponed. Doctor G will now release in theatres on October 14. The principal photography for the film began in July 2021 and filming wrapped up in September 2021. In November 2021, the initial release date was announced.
Today, Khurrana revealed the new release date for the upcoming campus medical comedy.
