Dobaaraa Twitter Review: Is Taapsee Pannu's Mystery-Drama Worth Watching?

Anurag Kashyap's Dobaaraa is a sci-fi movie starring Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati. The film is an official remake of the 2018 Spanish movie Mirage, released today, August 19, in theatres. In Dobaaraa, Pannu's character has the option to save the life of a 12-year-old child who witnessed a death during a thunderstorm that occurred 25 years ago by connecting via television during a comparable storm in the present. The film has previously had world premieres at several prominent film festivals, like the London Film Festival and the Fantasia Film Festival 2022.

Furthermore, Dobaaraa is the third project Pannu and Anurag Kashyap has worked on together. They have worked together in the 2018 movie Manmarziyaan and the 2019 film Saand Ki Aankh. Pannu shared a statement of gratitude to the film's creators the night before Dobaaraa's release. Her note read, "Here is a message from the makers who had the guts to support a movie like Dobaaraa and ensure that it opens in theatres, a film that doesn't undermine the intelligence of the audience. We will celebrate the fact that we could make such a film in a time when playing safe is the only option for survival, regardless of what the box office result is.
