Divya Dutta Starrer 'Maa' Is Set To Release On This Date

Maa, a Punjabi film starring Divya Dutta, Gippy Grewal, and Babbal Rai, is due to hit theatres soon. The film has been postponed several times after the initial 2020 lockdown was announced. Finally, the film's producers have revealed the film's release date as well as the first teaser.

A poster of Maa was released a week ago with the phrase "mother is the form of God on earth." it revealed that Divya Dutta plays the titular character, who is the mother of Gippy Grewal's character in the film. The actor also announced the news on social media with the caption, "A role completely different from what ive done before. The title role of the most precious word ever.#MA."

The teaser for the film was released on April 2, and it depicts her (Dutta) chasing down a small boy to beat him, but as soon as she realises her son is hurt, she forgets her rage and rushes to his rescue. Then the teaser shows that he was just kidding around with his mother. A severely old Dutta is shown driving a tractor in a lush green field in the next scene. In the teaser, Gippy Grewal and Babbal Rai make brief appearances. In addition to Gippy Grewal, Babbal Rai, and Divya Dutta, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Aarushi Sharma, Raghveer Boli, and Vadda Grewal, Ashish Duggal, Karamjit Anmol, and Prince Kanwaljit star in the film Maa.

Rana Ranbir wrote and directed the film, which is being produced by Ravneet Kaur Grewal and Gippy Grewal through their production company, Humble Motion Pictures. The film will portray the narrative of a mother's struggle and how she spends her life struggling and fighting for her family, as the title suggests. Hence, the film's producers chose to release the film in Mother' Day 2022 week, and it has now been confirmed that the picture will be released in theatres on May 6, 2022, only a few days before Mother's Day.

Dutta(45) is an acclaimed actor and has appeared in over sixty feature films, two of which were international productions. She made her acting debut in the Punjabi cinema industry in the year 1999. She played her first of many roles opposite Gurdas Maan in the love drama Shaheed-e-Mohabbat Boota Singh.
