Disney calls itself "The Happiest Place on Earth," and boy, did they deliver the promise at this year's fan convention. 'D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is a celebration of all things Disney that’s organised for members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club. Held once every two years, it’s the ultimate Disney fan event. 

This year's D23 fan convention was all shades of glitz, glam and magic. The promise to take the franchise of Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, Disney Animation at one place, one time was too iconic. 

New trailers, first look of your favourites 

Moana 2 

Moana and Mui are set for another sea adventure dropping in your nearest cinema houses this Thanksgiving i.e. November 27. With the divine guidance of the demigod Mui, Moana sets new goals to achieve at the sea. 

Dwayne Johnson and Auli'i Cravahlo give the fans a larger-than-life treat stepping out of screens, and onto the red carpet for promotions. They were accompanied by Hawaiian dancers in the background. 

Incredibles 3

"Production is underway" were words dropping like honey into the ears of the superhero franchise fandom. Yes, The Incredibles story is being renewed for part 3. More information is yet to be received.

Mufasa: The Lion King 

Do you know the popular franchise of The Lion King lost its status as the "highest-grossing Hollywood studio" in 2023? But when Paul, senior media analyst at Disney said, "It's never too late to have that big Hollywood comeback," we immediately knew we could trust him. 

Mufasa: The Lion King's trailer made a roar at the D23 convention. The trailer follows the story of Mufasa's childhood and early life. It will be directed by Oscar-winning Barry Jenkins. 

Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again is a Marvel baby and its trailer was launched and showcased at the D23. Stars Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio and John Bernthal return in their roles of Matt Murdock, Kingpin and Punisher respectively. 

New characters such as White Tiger and villain Muse are also here to surprise you!

Toy Story 5 

Catch the first look into the 5th edition of stories of friendship, love and power with Toy Story 5. The film's quest into technologically advanced toys and the challenges that they underlie win hearts.

The OG gang of Woody, Jessie and Buzz promise to return. Toy Story 5 is scheduled to hit cinemas in the summer of 2026. 

Avatar: Fire and Ash 

The Avatar Series just renewed itself. The new title is on the block and is all shades of heat and chills at the same time.

This part will be an exploration in the Na'vi Kingdom. 

Disney D23 2024 was truly a festival of taking franchises forward. "Who else but Disney could pull this off," says Disney CEO Bob Iger. He also reminisced years of storytelling and gasped for more magical storytelling by Disney in years to come. 

Other noteworthy announcements at D23 were the new Inside Out series, live stage performances of hits Frozen and Aladdin and a live-action version trailer of the childhood classic Snow White series.
