Dia Mirza baby boy is here: Actor Dia Mirza announced the birth of her son in a social media post on July 14. Mirza and her husband Vaibhav Rehkhi have named their newborn Avyaan Azaad Rekhi. She went on to reveal that the baby arrived prematurely on May 14 and is now being cared for in Neonatal ICU.

In her tweet, Mirza also revealed that she faced health complications during her pregnancy. "A sudden appendectomy during my pregnancy and a subsequent and very severe bacterial infection could have led to sepsis and proven to be life threatening," she wrote, adding that timely care and intervention by doctor ensured the safe birth of her baby via an emergency C-section.
In her note, Mirza added that she and her husband were learning from their son, in all humility, the true meaning of trusting the universe and of parenthood. "And to not be afraid, and so we humbly take the lead from his resilience and courage." Mirza also thanked those who continue to help the couple with childbirth-related complications, creating a safe, healing, nurturing space for Avyaan and his mom.
Mirza further thanked her fans and well-wishers for their prayers and love, extending the same back to everyone who is struggling to hold on to hope right now or is praying for a loved one. She also revealed the her son will be home soon and his elder sister Samaira and that his grand parents are waiting to hold him in their arms.
Former Miss Asia Pacific, Dia Mirza, married entrepreneur Vaibhav Rekhi in an intimate ceremony in February this year. Weeks after their wedding, Rekhi and Mirza announced in the first week of April that they were expecting their first child. Speaking on the controversy, Mirza later said on social media, "We discovered we were going to have a baby while we were planning our wedding. So this marriage is not the result of pregnancy. We didn’t announce the pregnancy until we knew its safe (medical reasons). This is the happiest news of my life. I’ve waited for many many years for this to happen. No way I would hide it for any reason other than medical."
