This will be actor Dhanush's first big release of the year 2023. The film is titled Vaathi in Tamil and Sir in Telugu. The film has set high expectations since the release of its teaser, and the trailer has revealed that it will probably be a typical commercial film with a social message about the issues in the education system.

The first half of the 2.27-minute trailer reveals that a significant portion of the film will feature a love story between Dhanush and Samyuktha Menon. Actor Samuthirakani plays the antagonist, who perceives education as business. From the trailer, it can be assumed that the film is a classic commercial entertainer with a social message. The second half of the trailer shifts focus from romance to social drama about the privatisation of education and corruption.

Vaathi Release Date

The film is scheduled to be released on February 17, 2023.

Vaathi's music is composed by national award-winning music director GV Prakash. Director Venky Atluri, who rose to fame with his film Tholi Prema, is known for his romantic dramas. It appears like the director has come out of his comfort zone with Vaathi, which features a social message.

On the work front, the national award-winning actor was last seen in the Tamil film Naane Varuven, where he played dual roles. He also made his Hollywood debut in the 2022 film, The Grey Man. The actor is currently shooting Captain Miller, a Tamil period action drama.
