Padukone's fitness mantra revolves around more than just appearance or looking good—it's about feeling fit. She revealed exercise has been ingrained in her lifestyle for as long as she can remember, emphasising the importance of physical vitality and overall well-being over superficial goals.

She highlighted the importance of maintaining a consistent exercise routine, even if it's just for five minutes a day. She revealed that when she can’t fit in a workout a short practice helps her manage stress and recover from travel fatigue, common challenges during her busy schedule.

What is Viparita Karani Asana?

Viparita Karani, commonly known as Legs-Up-the-Wall Pose, involves lying on the floor with legs elevated against a wall. The name translates to "inverted action," indicating its reversal of typical bodily movements like sitting and standing. 

According to Yoga Journal, this pose promotes lymphatic drainage, reduces swelling in the legs, and aids pelvic health. It enhances blood circulation towards the upper body, offering rejuvenation after prolonged sitting or standing. 

Beyond physical benefits, it teaches the value of receptivity over constant activity, making it beneficial for stress relief and mental calmness. Viparita Karani embodies a shift towards embracing rest and relaxation as essential components of well-being.

Padukone in her post also mentioned that during her pregnancy, doing this asana using a bolster or cushion for support relieves muscle and joint pain, reduces pressure on the lower back, alleviates fatigue in the legs and hips, eases water retention, and diminishes swelling and discomfort in the ankles and feet.
